How Do We Know What We Know? Charting the Future for Human Rights Documentation and Analysis
January 23, 2015 to January 24, 2015
Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ
The two-day conference and workshop linked scholars from multiple disciplines, practitioners and government officials to explore a variety of issues related to documenting and analyzing human rights violations. The event addressed the lack of methodological coherence among those gathering human rights data in the field and the possibilities for increased coordination. Participants presented research and discussed ways to improve links between human rights professionals and academics and to deepen scholarly and practical discussions regarding more effective and integrated strategies to gather and analyze data.
The conference was co-organized by the Center and the Working Group on Conflict and Human Rights at the School of Politics and Global Studies.
