Sean McCafferty

LTC Sean McCafferty is an active duty Signal Corps officer in the US Army, currently earning a PhD at ASU’s School for the Future of Innovation in Society. Sean has a BS in history from the US Military Academy at West Point and an MA in history from Florida State University. Prior to attending ASU, Sean served as the Chief of Plans & Strategy at US Army Cyber Command. He has experience in numerous operational units as a communications officer, an operations officer, and an executive officer. He also taught military history at West Point and attended the Advanced Military Studies Program at the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS). He is at ASU as part of the Advanced Strategic Planning and Policy Program, also under SAMS. His research interests include complex socio-technological systems, their interaction with military systems, and avoiding future failure scenarios. After leaving ASU, Sean will take command of a Signal Battalion.
